LEA Activity 1: Language Play
~Word-x-Word, Line-x-Line~

Example:
  • Black- the skinny black cat
  • Wheel-wheeled around, shrinking in fear
  • Hood-as the hooded figure crept past

My Work:
  • Fall-The vibrant leaves of fall
  • Crawl-descend downward as if they are crawling away from their foundation,
  • Coil-coiling toward the arid earth,
  • Cloth-clothed in similarity
  • Sign- like a sign of nature’s transformations
  • Briar- of briars, shrubberies, and plants,
  • Dry- drying out
  • Frost- in the frosty air
  • Shine- as dew shines,
  • Rise- giving rise to new life.

Observations about the words:
  • short, simple words
  • one syllable
  • off rhyme; near rhyme
  • easily defined
  • nouns or verbs
  • connotations
